High protein Crispy Chicken Nuggets

These easy high protein crispy chicken nuggets are golden, juicy, and packed with 6g protein per nugget, making them the perfect macro-friendly, meal prep, fakeaway alternative.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g lean ground chicken
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp cayenne
  • 1 tsp cayenne
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • cooking spray
Flour StatioStation
  • 100 plain flour
  • pinch of each seasoning
Honey Dip
  • 15 g unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp Frank's red hot
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • chilli flakes

Method
 

  1. Preheat air fryer or oven to 200°c
  2. Mix chicken , egg and seasonings until completely combined.
  3. Set up flour and egg station.
  4. Shape into 20 to 22 uniform nuggets.
  5. Coat in flour, dip in egg then coat again in flour mix.
  6. Spray generously with cooking oil.
  7. Airfry for 12-15minutes or bake 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway.
  8. Rest 3-4 minutes before serving.

Notes

Spray before and during cooking for crispiness.
Do not overcook.
Use almond flour for softer texture.
Pork rind crumbs create a crispier low carb coating.
